TSNconnect

The Portal Tirol authentication can also be used for internal school applications via SAML. TSNconnect enables schools, for example, to make Webuntis accessible to students as well. Without this possibility, the administration effort for the additional access data for students would be too high. At the same time, this increases user comfort and IT security.

TSNconnect is a single sign-on process that enables school-specific applications to be attached to the Tyrol portal. From an organizational point of view, a construct is available for this, which makes it possible to store a link to the web application in the TSN user administration. This link can be restricted to special user groups, e.g. teachers, students. In addition, it is possible to create special rights and assign them individually to users, e.g. administrators.

If a user in Portal Tirol triggers access to the application, the linked application is informed which Portal Tirol user is attempting to use the application based on which access authorization. By evaluating the role (access authorization) and the user, the web application is able to control the functions that are made available.

In addition, an interface is available to provision the users in the school-specific specialist application. This saves the administrator the effort of manual data maintenance.
